Re: Chinese Curtis Controllers, anyone buy one? Reviews?
Was wondering what they came with. It does have the purple Plum Quick motor.
So, I guess the question is, what controller do I really need? a $600-$1000 one, or a cheap one?. This is not a performance cart. Thanks Mike |

You have received some good answers to your question. The correct answer is rarely to go cheap. Your Plum motor is a D&D motor painted purple. The car is stretched. I assume for additional seating/payload. Don't go cheap. The Curtis 1268 is by far the best controller for the job. Its also the most expensive and does require a somewhat expensive controller for programming. It is bullet proof and will last forever. Both Navitas and Alltrax make nice controllers that are programmed and diagnosed with free apps. I like the Navitas app running on my phone. I personally would not go with a controller that needs a fan. If it needs a fan, it isn't designed properly. You may have noticed that none of the Curtis golf car controllers require a fan or even have an optional fan. |

I disagree about the fan. Alltrax controllers have an optional fan - it comes standard with the 500 amp. This lets them keep it cool without a massive heatsink. All controllers get pretty hot. Keeping them cooler is a good thing. The Alltrax fan is temperature controlled and it only runs when needed. Mine runs a bunch when it's 100 degrees out here in Phoenix. I have found Alltrax to be very reliable and their monitor app is great for diagnosing problems.

Re: Chinese Curtis Controllers, anyone buy one? Reviews?
So if I buy a Curtis 1268 I will need a programmer to set it up? If that is case then that is not an option. Thought it might be more plug and play because it had one before.
Well, going to have to look into the other options then. Thanks for everyone's feedback on this. Should I get a 500 amp then? Anyone have a used controller they want to sell? Just wasn't prepared to spend that kind of money on this project. Probably to going stick with gas carts going forward after this learning experience. Mike |

Did you ever determine if the controller had been swapped out? Yamaha normally comes with a Moric
