Default Troubleshooting Chargers

Any checklist/advice on troubleshooting chargers and/or verifying that they are working properly? I recently had some problems with my cart that I eventually decided was because my charger had gone bad by using a friend's charger to charge my cart. Now I'd like to try to troubleshoot that charge and possibly another one that I have as a spare that may or may not be working properly.

The two chargers I have are a Lester-Matic Model 8714 Type/Serial # 36LC25T12 and a Textron E-Z-Go Model 6701, Manufacturing #464-2367. However, I'd be interested in general troubleshooting tips even if you don't know specifically about either of these models.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a DVM?

scottyb,

Yes, I have a Digital VoltMeter if that's what you mean by DVM.

Also,

Thanks for the voltage chart. I suspected the second charger was bad because the needle didn't jump when my pack was down around 37v and I appreciate you confirming that my suspicions are justified. Checking cart this morning, voltage was 37.9v, but pretty sure it has not been 12 hours since the charger kicked off.

Smile Re: Troubleshooting Chargers

I am looking for battery/charger for a Planet electric G4 golf cart and I am having trouble finding replacement for anything to do with Planet Golf carts. Is there anybody that could advise me on where to find information regarding these items needed to run my cart?
Thank you!
