What new tires for street/dirt/off road use?
I have a 2001 EZGO Gas with the 18 HP Briggs engine and right now it has Carlisle AT 489 tires, size AT25X11-10 all the way around. This is a full suspension lifted cart with coil over shocks in front and rear. I just bought it and am going to run mainly on pavement in community, but still take out a few times a year to Glamis and Octotillo Wells on occasion. What tires would be best to run on there and what size? ASny help is appreciated. i am a newbie to carts, but not to performance vehicles. Thanks.

Re: What new tires for street/dirt/off road use?
Okay. We are thinking of getting a whole new set of wheels and tires for the street, and keeping the ones above for strictly sand, dirt, and mud. Any suggestions. I have a 4 bolt wheel pattern now with a 12 inch lift and A-Arm/coil over shocks, suspension.

Re: What new tires for street/dirt/off road use?
We are looking at getting the following wheel and tire combo for a really good price:
The tires are Maxxis Ceros 26X11-12 and the wheels are ITP chrome SS212's. in 12X7. This should be a killer combo!!! All mounted with chrome lugs, chrome valve stems/caps, and installed for $820 out the door with tax!!! The tires alone are normally $130 each and the wheels $106, without lugs, install, and valves/caps. Let me know what you think. |

Okay, may have problem finding these tires now. They are out of stock and unknown when to be able to be shipped. What other tires are you guys running out there? I want at least a 25 on a 12inch wheel, and probably no thinner than 9".

How about a Rip-Saw? They are a 25X10RX12 or a 26X10RX12

Those are awesome. Do you have to use their wheels with those tires?

Re: What new tires for street/dirt/off road use?
I like the Rawhide for a tire like that http://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20...awhide_mtr.htm
There are some things to consider for tires, get any wheel you want. For sand it seems the closer you get to paddles with a big block the better. For the road a few issues depending on what is important to you and if you offroad those tires: 1. Looks, for sure but really how long do people stare at your tires? 2. Ride, most mud tires vibrate and make noise. Some like the mudlite have a center band that helps a lot on the road. Most desert tires are a compromise and have bands or interlocking tread that rides better, they will look something like a very aggressive automotive truck tread. 3. Wear and Shape of the tire, a round tire will wear off the center of the tread on the road so you see a lot of people run a desert type tire that is more flat across the tread, or the radial tires are more that way. 4. Try to make sure new tires will fit your cart. 5. There is a lot of tire posts here if you search for a while. |

Re: What new tires for street/dirt/off road use?
I am looking for a radial for mainly on road use in a 25" or 26". I have Toyo M/T's on my truck and love that look, but also want them to last. I am interested in 6 ply so they hold up and wear better. I am concerned about ride as well. I will use cart alot as a daily driver I am keeping old wheels/tires for desert/mud/play use.
