Compression on B&S vanguard 16hp
I read that a compression cannot be done on a vanguard engine. Why Not? Can a leak down test be performed??

Re: Compression on B&S vanguard 16hp
You can perform a compression test, but because of the compression release on the cam it will not be accurate. You can't spin the engine fast enough with starter to overcome this. Take both plugs out and then test each cylinder at WOT. Divide the larger reading by the smaller, this number should not be more than 20%.
No reason you couldn't so a leak down test on the heads though........ |
