Default 1984 ezgo

i just got a 1984 ezgo for the campground
i needed a new muffler so i put a new one on it.
i put a new one on it and now i lost speed, it wont climb,
it sound like it missing now do i need to adjust the carb?

I don't believe in coincidences, you changed the muffler and it runs worse? So what did you do? I would suspect that you have nudged the spark plug wire, it runs very close to the muffler. Check to see if the cap is firmly on the plug or if the wire is now resting on the hot muffler and slowly breaking down.

is the muffler an original equipment type? the 2 strokes are very sensitive to muffler design. also do what dave said and be sure to check where it goes into the coil. it's a lousy connection at best.

it's possible that the change in back pressure altered your fuel flow, it's probably (to be safe) not a bad idea to tear into the carb and clean all the jets, etc - here's a diagram, pay special attention to all the circled jets, make sure they're unobstructed and clean.
