lifting a 48v buggy
I might be purchasing a 48v 97 club car. I would like to purchase a Jake's 6" spindle lift for it. My question is, how will my much will my performace suffer by adding the larger tires with a 48v system and stock motor. I had a 36v buggy with a bone stock motor and the big tires killed it. Do I need to do more to the 48v system to make it run effectively or will it be OK. Oh let me add. The buggy will mainly be used for running around on flat ground but will need to hold up to the occasional varmint hunt and put on 6-10 miles and still be able to load on the trailer at the end of the night. I'm not wanting to build up a hot rod just a good rig that will get me around. I would be greatful for any help.

Re: lifting a 48v buggy
It won't hurt your performance much. You will need good batteries for 6-10 miles. As for your old 36V cart, it was your system, not the motor! Those 36v series motors were rockets! Thats what i'm running in my 48v series cart. About the 97 cart, is it a series(F/R lever) or shunt(rocker f/r) cart?

What all do I need to look for on this cart to see if it worthy? Such as electonics, speed controls, batts, etc. The guy said it has 2 year old Trojan batts. I just want a buggy that will make it through a night of hunting. |
