too rich, white smoke
I have an '82 ezgo, I just rebuilt the top end (cylinder, piston, rings, gaskets) . It idles great but it won't reach a high RPM when pushing the gas, it smokes alot, I have adjusted the screws on the carb, nothing changes. The jet is a 138 in a mikuni carb. I don't know what jet is the correct jet. I am running 50:1 fuel with no automatic / injector oil, I mix myself. Can you help me. I think the Carb is a " bv18 "

Re: too rich, white smoke
Would be interested in the answers you get. I just brought my cart in as it is the end of the year. It's an 88 ezgo with 2 stroke Robin engine . Carb looks like the original. It seems to be running too hot and to fast with no throttle control. I'm going to start some end of year maint like cleaning the air filter and so on but afraid that won't correct prob. Will watch the thread for any assistance.

Re: too rich, white smoke
Most here have removed the injector and related equipment. Just mix the oil 128 to 1. Sounds lean but that is what is called for.

Re: too rich, white smoke
I have removed the injector, its not running (oil) rich, its running fuel rich (like the choke is on ).

Re: too rich, white smoke
my 1986 calls for 1:128 mix. one oz of oil to one gallon of gas. your mix of 1:50 is off i think.

Re: too rich, white smoke
It is possible that the fuel pump diaphragm has a hole in it so fuel is running down into the crankcase through the pulse line. Take off the pulse line and see if it is wet inside.
