Re: New F&R switch
None of the above (no insult meant)
Drill a hole in each corner and sharpen a new hacksaw blade until it fits in the hole then start cutting ~ by hand. Much less chance you will cut something you regret. Finish up with a metal file. I did a thread here showing how this is done...... Also the trim pieces on the website cove a 1/4" oops. And they look good too...Now where was our original topic? Wait a minute and I will post the link here...... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...r-install.html |

All methods of mechanize cutting are dangerous for such a delicate job IMHO. I consider myself good with a dremel and a jigsaw. I can write my name with either one but, I cut the dash with a modified hacksaw blade for safety. I have cut them with a razor blade knife but the opportunity for errors is many. In this install thread I drilled a hole in each corner with a new drill bit, then with a new hacksaw blade sharpened to a point, I connected the dots and with a metal file, finished her up and fitted the meter. A better choice is always to buy the meter trim piece which allows for 1/4 inch errors. Hope this helps http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...r-install.html |
