. . check top of terminals for a letter/number code stamped into it . . . letter is month, ie A=Jan, B=Feb, etc and numeral is year, ie 0=2010, 9=2009, etc . . .

And perform the load test as mentioned earlier. I think you will find one or more weak batteries in your pack.

did a test run this morning, no change. started out with 50.9 after charging last night. going up the hill it pulls down to around 46.5 +/- .02 and really slow. load checked each battery and not really that much difference in them. most were around 8.3 or 8.4 to start and averaged between 7.7 and 7.8 going up hill, none i don't think stood out as really weaker than the others. i would expect a bigger difference if one or two were really weaker. checked the date on the batteries and it is january 2009. so they are more than two years old like i was told, looks more like 3 1/2 years old. i don't have an hydrometer so i'll need to purchase or borrow one before i can do that test. thanks for all the input.

Your batteries are dropping fast going up hill, too much. Unfortunately it looks like you need new batteries. Your batteries at rest are only 80/90% but dropping to 20/30% up hill.

From what I've heard, a load test takes a lot longer than just putting voltmeter to it. Can't remember the time, but wanna say over 24 hours.
