I believe it's a relay and wonder if anyone knows what it's for?

Found it. That's what it's for. Not sure why it says gas cart only?

It shuts down all the accessories when the key is turned off so that way if the lights can not be left on to draw the batteries down to cause run time issues

I never checked the headlight with the key off but I know the brake lights work with the key off.

The brake lights are not wired through this relay and will work with the key off.

Does it matter what light kit is installed on a Precedent? Another member has a Precedent and light kit but does not have this relay. I know the kit that I have is a factory kit if that makes a difference.

I checked one today and when you set the hill brake the brake lights come on until they time out 30 seconds or so with the key on. Key on set hill brake, brake lights come on turn key of right away brake lights go out.
