Par Car Wire Gauge
Got a 2007 48V Par Car. What gauge wire should be used for conecting everything? Today I had one of the wires conected to the motor melt at the connection. I noticed a little smoke and everything failed. I'm assuming that it melted due to overheating because it was only 6 gauge wire. Someone had used this when he was helping with some issues about a year ago. I don't think they knew what they were doing.
I borrowed a heavier gauge wire from my other cart and connected everything and seems to work fine. The actual post on the motor seems a little loose though. I'm wondering if the heat could have cause some damage to it. Any thoughts? |

I'm surprised that 6 gauge wire lasted almost a year. Thanks again! |
