G-9 Motor issues
Kids were riding my cart and it started making som ederioous noises. Now it will start but back fires like it is miss firing and wont even go anywhere. If it was a car i would say bent a value or took a lobe off the cam. Is it possible for a cart to jump time? Have any of you had this happen?

Re: G-9 Motor issues
First thing you do is get a new plug as they can foul them out. Get the #2 plug they use in newer yamahas like the G16/etc. (ngk2bprs or something). You can pop the valve cover off and check the rockers/pushrods, just make sure you seal it back on because if it leaks oil it will fill your cooling fins with solid dirt. Also check the air filter.
The gen will turn the engine over even if it does not run, any time the pedal is pushed. |
