Default homebrew g1 clutch puller ideas?

been looking around for a clutch puller for a neighbours g1 but having a hard time paying $55 for one.anyone have any thoughts or specs on what I need.ive read about using a sparkplug but no other specs, saw mention of thread size of m14x1.0 but no real definite answers. any help would be great. I have made a puller for my sleds and ezgo before so hoping this wouldn't be a big deal. thanks

Default Re: homebrew g1 clutch puller ideas?

This subject comes up from time to time and here is a copy of my answer from a while ago. I have been there - done that!! Best bet is to just bite the bullet and buy one. Here it is -

NOTE - The correct thread for the clutch puller is 14mm dia. x 1mm pitch and is a very difficult bolt to find in stock anywhere. (I tried !!) Unfortunately, making your own puller is not a good option in the case of the Yamaha engine because of this odd thread. There also have been some posts here suggesting to use a spark plug for the bolt, but unfortunately that thread at 14 mm has a pitch of 1.25 mm and will not work.
Good luck - RAY

Just take the bolt out of the clutch & drive it like ya stole it. It will come lose!
