Default Install hidden toggle switch

Hello, on a "97" gasoline Yamaha golf cart .... since 1 key fits all... what color wire/location, do you splice a hidden toggle switch to prevent theft. In my younger days, used to splice the hot lead to the starter. But, baffled with the golf car circuity. thanks much for your time

At least on my 2000 G16...there's a plug behind the key switch. One in...one out. You'd have to trace it back.

Or...replace the ignition switch. That's what I did on mine. There are all kinds of switches with one or two positions. (You don't need the twist to start position) Check eBay...lots of different choices. Some are made for motorcycles. Or, I think NAPA sells them too.

Just pull the fuse if you leave the car in situation like that. My car is street legal, I drive and leave mine all the time. Never had a problem. And a dirty little secret, you don't need a key to start mine, a paper clip or popsicle stick will start it.

A great place for a toggle kill switch is the plastic cover that cover's the solenoid/fuse/voltage regulator and engine relay, just to the right of the battery. There is a red wire with "snap" connectors, extend the wires to a high quality on/off toggle switch and mount it on the drivers side of the cover. You can reach in and "flip it" and no one can see it's there
