Yup!
But, the engine won't shut down until you plug it back in.

(sorry for the delay... long day yesterday)

the ignitor could be failing, or the attached wires could be grounding.

There are several things items at play here: Ignitor (#18 ), RPM limiter (#16), Ignition coil (#6) in addition to the micro switches and the wiring to them. Yes you can disconnect the white/black tracer wire at the bullet connector by the oil dipstick tube and that will take all the switches and their wiring out of the equation. The RPM limiter can be eliminated by disconnecting the brown wire (by #13). If all those things are eliminated and it still stalls out on you, the ignitor and coil are about all that's left. I would try the ignitor first (cheaper part and much easier to get at) and it doesn't have to mount back in the original place to work. just has to be plugged in (small spade connector) and grounded.

Hey Lockman, and others. Don't want to jack this thread but it may help the OP.

See anything wrong with mounting a new ignitor in another easy to service location? I think that's what I'm going to do if mine ever goes out.

The cart is lifted it's actually not bad to get at, pulling the engine to change the base gasket and oil seal kinda sucked though.

I'll often extend the wire and mount the ignitor to the stud that holds the oil dipstick tube. Does require drilling out the mounting hole on the ignition to the 6mm (1/4") size. To test it I just use a jumper wire to any ground. Really doesn't matter where it is as long as the body of the ignitor is grounded.

Well I unplugged the microswitches from the ignition and the cart ran for a while then died again. So it sounds like your guys diagnoses of a bad igniter, or coil is right. Have to wait for parts now.
Thanks for the quick help on diagnosis!

Did you test it with the rev limiter ground wire disconnected also?

(at left mounting bolt #13 )
