294 carryall 4x4 with 2cyl honda rough idle
i am working out the bugs from this 4x4 carryall i bought. It has the 2 cylinder honda 20hp engine. When I bought it, the woman told me to "put it in gear like you mean it!"
That means if you shift it slow, it grinds while going into gear. I think it is just idled too fast and engaging/rubbing the belt, so I tried to idle it down. I think i found out why it idles so high! By the time you get it down to where it will go into gear, it gets a real rough idle, then quits. Even when you speed the idle up, at times it will go down to the rough idle and quit. Do these hondas idle smooth for you guys? I am deciding if I should tear carb off and clean it. That thing has a million springs connected to the linkage and govenor! edit: air cleaner is clean |

Checked valve clearance tonite. They are good. It has bpr4es spark plugs. Should they be bpr5? Honda GX620 engine

It sounds like someone used gas with ethanol and let it sit. You could try adding seafoam to the gas or just pull the carb and give it a good cleaning

Internet is giving conflicting info. Anyone know the correct spark plug for 294 carryall 4x4 with honda gx620 engine? I am still waiting on my service manual.

cleaned the carb. It helped. Not perfect, but better.
