Breaking rods must be common in these engines. I have a 97Workhorse with a 350 with the same problem. It runs but the piston on the clutch side don't move. I'm going to order a rebuilt engine from J&M when I head back to Florida this fall. I read on here that the block should be ok for exchange when a rod goes.

Thats good to know, I hope to be trouble free after I install the rebuilt engine. Then the lift kit, then the tires ect ,ect...... you know how it works.

Hello Capthumb,

Breaking conrods is common by overrevving the engine and wear / lack of oil.
Mine does max 8500 / 9000 with bearings in the rod without breaking.
So build in bearings and breaking with your max 4200 isn't a problem anymore!

Oh, also keep oil in your engines!!!!
