i really need some help
i have a 2004 ez-go work horse i just got it didnt run so i started working on it did a compression test it only had 60 lbs of compression so i put all new valves put it back together still doent run spits fuel out of carb checked compression its now about 150 lbs its also backfiring threw the carb took carb apart cleaned still doing it if any one could help i would really be greatfull thank you

i set them at .006 do you think i could be off on my timing

i put the pistons at top dead center then aligned the cam gear hole with the notch on top but it is possible that im a tooth off either way would that make it do the same thing?

Could be. Did you refer to the service guide? Valves are tricky to get just right. Go back and check each one but instead of a feeler gauge, back each one off the lobe ( with it pointing away from the valve) and tighten it until it just touches. Back it off 1/4 turn and you will be darn close to right. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...djustment.html

Hey sccowboy, what's up my friend.... good to see you again.
chris, kinda sounds like the timing may be off. check the tech section, I know a diagram is there showing how it should be and it's also in the engine rebuild manual. basically all keyways should be straight up, it's easy to get it a tooth off. |
