I had the same problem on my G8...and had to have the starter/generator rebuilt. Definitely checked the wiring and the small wiring connector off the generator for corrosion.

4.5-5.5 ohms at 68F on a DMM the manual says.

Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner, my computer has been down.
Can you explain the process to doing this? Do you just unplug the wires and ohm out the wires coming off the generator? Do this as its is sitting or running? And Im checking ohms and not volts, correct?

Just unplug the wires, and ohm the wires comeing out of the starter/generator...not running.
