Question Drilling jet out

Hello everyone, I'm trying to get some opinions on drilling out my main jet. I have been reading posts and everyone seems to say drill it out with bits anywhere between .046 thru. .052. Any recommendations? All I have done was remove the filter box and installed a filter to the Carb. But it seems to bog unless I leave the coke open.

Several have done this. If your letting in more fuel, you'll need to let in more air. Are you using a K&N type air filter now? Most do when swapping out or drilling the jet. Anyway, I think you know what your problem is: which is not a proper fuel/air flow mixture.

I would go this route: http://www.cartpartsplus.com/advance...1&keywords=jet

remove the jet and read the markings on it ... goto jetsrus and order the same style jet with a slightly larger number.. for WAY cheaper than the site listed ...

Open the main jet to .042" and try it. If you still need the choke open to .044" and repeat until you find the sweet size for your setup.

Hey guys thanks for the fast replies. The filter I'm running is just a off brand filter, no k&n yet. I think I'm going to try drilling it like the new guy saying and give it a shot. If I mess it up ill go ahead and order a new one slightly bigger.

There is a small round file set designed for cleaning Mig welding tips, you can buy it for about $8. Start by finding the file that moves smoothly through the jet, and then go to the next file up. Try the setup and see if that does it for you, if not go to the next size up. I have done this for both of my G2's with Uni filters and it works great.

drilling a jet is never a good idea, jets are tapered for flow.

Sounds great guys, any idea where I can find a file kit? Sears or menards?
