i am building a frame just like the club car carts for my dads Yamaha G1. gonna use round tubing instead of square just for looks. The winshild will just snap on with rubber mounts and then a fiber glass top for it.

No bugs? That just is not right. We have bugs, lots of them. Actually not a problem until you get to 25mph and more. Dust/dirt/rocks and branches are the issue mostly.

I purchased a Club Car roof and windshield today. Test fit looks good for windshield. I will post pics when all figured out.

OK...I got my windshield and roof installed. Pics below. Windshield/roof is for a Club Car.

The screws in the windshield frame are a tad smaller as the holes are very close...using 1/4" hardware allowed using the frame support holes that are right by cupholders (the "wings" that mount to the front frame). Lifted/modified frames may mount differently. I made the braces using 1 1/4" x 1/8" flat stock (from Lowes). You will note that the mounting points do NOT see

Rear support is a set for the 80" tops - Clubcar or Yamaha G16-22. They are mounted to body using existing frame holes (body had to be drilled - hole is right by gas lid). You will note that the support has been mounted UPSIDE DOWN. I drilled top of mount and it fit right into roof where it should. The difference is there is only 1 screw at rear of roof instead of 2. I mounted with wing nuts to facilitate lifting body.

To lift body, I remove rear screws (wing nuts) and carefully lift body once roof lifted loose. The roof stays attached to windshield and all is reasonably secure.

I road tested and did the "shake" test...roof seems very secure and we are most pleased with how it came out. I suppose real test will be trailering to campground, but I am confident roof is secure.

Looks good, really sets off the cart. You going to paint the top to match?

Doubt it...top color doesn't look bad and they get hot in the sun, so I am concerned with paint peeling.
