adjusting g2 governor?:

hey guys i want to adjust the governor on my 1992 g2 gasser it is all stock and i want alittle more speed ... i see from some threads here its a 10mm nut on top of tranny?? looking for help to safely adjust to get more speed but dont wanna blow my motor or anything

Get under the rear bumper when the cart is cool, as the muffler is up there. Use a 1/4" drive ratchet with a 10mm deep socket on it. Find the lever on top of the trans the nut is at the end of it. Tighten. You can tighten it all the way should not hurt anything, never seen one the rpm would get into any danger zone with the governor still on it. If you run it on the floor at full speed a lot it will reduce throttle cable lifespan from the pressure. The governor will still work just faster before it cuts in. You can also adjust the throttle cable under the floor panel, the engine has to start before the carb opens. Many carts have some room there but make sure it starts first. Actually the switch is also adjustable but usually clicks pretty quick with pedal movement.

ok thanks i will do some adjusting when i get a chance i do drive long distance sometimes full throttle .... and as for the petal switch it crapped out so i put a toggleswitch in line lol
