I looked at the hubs when I took them off for the brake job. The splines don't show any obvious damage. They are a little rusty, but nothing else noticeable. I couldn't tell if they are worn down or not without a measurement of what size the splines should be. I didn't notice any metal shavings when I took them off that I think may accumulate if the hubs spun freely on the axle. I was going to take the axles out when changing the bearings and inspect the splines on them as well. I'm running out of ideas, and am beginnigng to get frustrated. It's one of those things that you know can be fixed, but I haven't quite foune the problem yet. But thanks to you and the other guys here giving me ideas, I'll keep looking. I'll definitely take the hubs off, clean them, and take a closer look. Thanks for the advice.
