G1 steering column
A guy gave me a golf cart for free, It is a Harley Davidson. It used to have 1 wheel in front for steering. He has changed it around & put an axle in front for 2 wheels, complete with tie rods & ends.. He made a makeshift steering with sprockets & chains.. 4 chains in total.. terrible mess, & it's almost impossible to steer, takes 2 hands, & pull hard.. My wife can't turn it.... I also have a Yamaha G1 golf cart.. steers like a charm.. I'm thinking of trying to adapt a G1 steering to this cart.. Or? any other kind..
Would anybody have a steering column out of a wrecked G1 that I could buy, & try this project.. With the proper gear box I think it would be OK.. Of course I would need the steering wheel too, unless I could adapt something else. Thanks in advance, John |
