If yours is not burned up, why not look up a local automotive rebuilder and have it rebuilt. These are basically an "old school" generator and will not be a challenge for an automotive rebuilder. Good luck - RAY

Last G1 built in 1989, after several years of no G1 production. Yes, have yours rebuilt. If you have none, you might be able to retrofit a later model one on there.

I bought my brand new one on Ebay. Can't say that it was cheap though. It ended up costing a bit over $100 but was new and worked like a champ.

Hey Smokindawg, do you mind me asking who the seller was? Need a new one for my G1. The old one had the brushes and screws so corroded I could not get them out without stripping the screws and also brushes were actually corroded to the holders.

If you can share I would appreciate.

Thanks,

$100 is pretty cheap. New from the factory they are over $300.

This one's $140. The seller has good feedback.
