Default Help. cart wnt go left!

Hi all.

My cart... The serial # is 1033407 model G2997, so I assume it is a 1997 TXT model. will turn right no problem, but not left. Makes a clicking sound when i turn left but wont turn left. Used to click but would eventually turn left but for last couple of months no left turns. Getting really old making everything a right turn or going in a circle to the right to make the smallest left turn. What part would I need to fix this and could I install it my self? Anyone got a service manual and parts manual for this? I noticed that when turning to left the steering wheel seems to rise about an inch! could it be something simple?

Thanks in advance.

Probably not something you can fix yourself without previous Ezgo steering box rebuilding experience? You could look around for a replacement in the parts section and swap it out......they are not cheap

Scot and dulay the steering rises when turning. Could it be a snap ring or pin.missing worn out? I can't find a drawing for the rack insides, but its broke so lets take it apart and see how this thing is made. Take a lot of pics and we can all learn.

Doomsday

I will take stuff apart and take pics, lots of them and post them. I always manage to take things apart, but have a habit of ending up with lots of extra parts when I put them back together again :-) Hence lots of old laptops and computers rendered useless!!

Wondering if I could use the 2001 service manual and parts manual on this website as a guide to what I should expect to find when I take the parts apart?

The rack assembly is different for the 1997 and 2001 model carts, so the 2001 manual would not help.

Its not a very hard job. There is a plug that can be a bear to get off but with the right tools it can be done. You'll see how things work as you take it apart. If it jumped the rack your probly gonna need to replace some parts.
