97 EZ GO DCS reverse only

It runs in reverse fine,but just chugs and barely moves in forward.Batteries are new,have checked voltage at batts.37 volts,microswitches both ok,cables and connections good,37 volt at controller in reverse,but 26 volts in forward.Cable to motor getting hot when trying to run forward.Solenoid clicks ok in forward and reverse.Checked as much as I can with limited knowledge of system.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.

I have almost the same isssue. I can go forward, but can't go in reverse. How do you check the volts at controller for forward or reverse?

I was thinking that when I upgraded my cables, I may have damaged the connection to the S2 stud within the motor when I was trying to remove the nut. The stud turned with the nut. I should have used two wrenches to hold stud in place.

I'm like you and have limited knowledge of the system.

Same result ..... different problem. We know gark twisted the terminal loose inside of the motor...... you may have a bad controller on the DCS cart.

Yeah I am switching to a D&D speed/torque motor,all-trax 700 amp controller system from Buggies Unlimited,converts it from a regen.to a series system,still 36v.Hope this will solve my problem.Opinions?
