2001 ezgo gas vibration
Have a 2006 ezgo shuttle 2+2. Recently hade the clutch machined and 28 degree guts installed. Now I've noticed a an harmonic vibration at higher speeds. I also tested in neutral and vibration was still apparent at higher rpms. After that, I removed drive belt and check in neutral and vibration is gone. Does anybody have any idea of what it might be. I looked at the belt surface of the driven clutch and the machined area up through the incline on the driven clutch looks kinda of scored. (from being machined) Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2001 ezgo gas vibration
I've never been a big fan of machining the driven clutch, I believe it helps weaken it's integrity. The clutches are consumable parts and will wear out, in my opinion machining them for gains that can be accomplished other ways is un-necessary and only helps shorten their life.
anyway...... You may have a belt issue, normally people who have the clutch machined don't have this problem out of them. Did you use a new belt or have another you can try? sometimes you can turn them around and that'll help. If it's not a belt problem I would ask about this to who ever did the clutch work. |
