Question ID Info needed YR / Model

Hello to ALL.

I recently acquired an EZ GO but the year/serial # plate was removed from the passenger side.
I washed the cart and searched around to no prevail.
I would like to get a Manual on it but don't want to get the wrong year or model.
I'm looking for your expertise in this area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question Re: ID Info needed YR / Model

Hello,

When I recieved this cart it sat in a barn for who knows how long.
It had a 1/4 tank of gas in it.
Jumped the battery and it started right up.
ran like crazy.
Put fresh mix in and it would not start.
It would crank but no start.
After fooling with it I found that if I choke the gas line, The cart came back to life.
Pulled the carb out.
Cleaned it.
Checked if the float had a leak, Readjust float & seat.
Some problem.
Purchased a New Carb (88 Style is the only one that looked exact).
Purchased an 88 throttle cable but it was to short.
Purchased the 39" cable & that fit.
Put all together, Same problem.
I place a small Briggs/Strat shut off valve & have it now set between 80-90% closed.
It seems to be floading.
Thanks

Replied to your PM. Just wanted to point out the air hose doesn't seem to have a clamp where it mounts to the carb intake and the engine looks VERY dusty. If it was run at all without that clamp, there is a good chance there is dirt in the carb as well as in the engine which could cause problems.

Just for the record, I think that this cart is a VERY late 1979 or VERY early 1980's model. It has a late 70's style engine/swing-arm/fuel tank location and an 80's style front suspension.

The typical 80's model has a solid front axle with 2 leaf springs and shocks as well as an external starter/generator.

The typical 70's model has single A-arms over a single leaf spring as well as an internal starter/generator.

I was thinking it was around 79 too but couldn't remember exactly when they did away with the internal start/gen. I would listen to MB about this, he knows about the earlier models.
