90 ez go not reaching high speeds
I have a 1990 ez go marathon 2 cycle that is not reaching top speed. It starts out fine and then the motor over revs. If I back off the throttle a little, it will shift and reach top speed most of the time. I also hear a cracking noise coming from the rear of the cart if I climb a hill or put it under a load. I disassembled the driven clutch and everything looks good to me. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for?

Re: 90 ez go not reaching high speeds
Upon further review..... I disassembled the clutch again, this time with a parts list with illustrations in hand. Found I had no ramp buttons left. They were completely gone and the lobes on the cam were rounded off pretty bad. New clutch is on order.
