thx for the reply. need to check with my friend. can't believe that the powers to be would be upset over a few washers that they probably don't sell any way. if worse comes to worse, we are probably will in western n.y. (corning) this summer around watkins glen racing time. also, my gf is related to one of the sponsors here-imaginative.

Hey Madoc
Have you had the cover off of the clutch in the middle picture? I can take the 6 bolts out of mine and pull the spring etc out but can't get the cover off without bending it.
As far as the washers go they are also called stud washers and hard washers. SAE washers would work too but you would have to use more of them....

cheezy, i did take apart and don't remember anything else except the center bolt. did it on the bench.
maybe some pb and light tapping with a dead blow?

The U-bolt Washers have a little Convex to them,Not real important for this application,but the need it to help maintain torque on U-Bolts.But,they are readily availiable to me,so it works.

I stand corrected, I've replaced springs before and didn't really notice the convex on the washers. lol


I took apart my clutch and the only way to shim this style is to place a washer to the outside of the spring.
Washer needs to be 1.630 ID x up to 2.400 OD x your desired thickness.
