Speed Increase for 2007 Gas Precedent
Looking to get more top speed out of my Club Car. I really don't want to mess with the governor. Anybody have any experience with the 8:1 gearsets? I assume that I will lose some torque with this modification. I live in coastal South Carolina so it is pretty flat around here so I'm not worried about climbing hills. Also, has anyone installed one of these? Thanks for any input.

The 8:1 gear set is going to cause you lose a lot of torque. Club Car offers their Xcelerator Clutch Kit to speed these things up. They're available for DS and Precedent. You'll be able to gain 4-5 MPH or so without losing any bottom end.
