91, not really any progress. this a junk yard build. 2 800s and a 90 ish marathon. it is to be for my gf's grandkids if we ever get done. (divorce in progress).

the drive train is done. there is a 8 inch lift in the rear ,which i think is too much?, and that's about it . funds limited. the front lift will cost nada. just need at least 10" wheels and large tires and the a little paint. plus other stuff
like a seat.

if you notice in the second green cart pic, he has his bed shortened. hope to do that. good luck jim

oops- the first cart (maybe both) has the short bed,

Ok i bought the cart. Its really an 89 gxt 800 with the utility bed. I said it wouldn't rpm at all in my first post. Here the prob was it was not getting throttle at all, maybe 1/4 if that. It was way out of wack. I adjusted the cable the best i can and it gets about 3/4 now. Carb i do think needs cleaned still though. Do 16 mph now instead of 5 lol. I cant get full throttle cause the bushing that bolts in the rear end housing that the governer shaft pivets in is wore out. Im losing some of my travel in the linkage cause the shaft is moving back and forth. I dont know weather to bypass it or try to make a new bushing on buddies lathe. Plus im having a hard time finding a carb rebuild kit for it. i think its sucking air through the butterfly shaft seal. Any thoughts?

drift, you should have 3pg, 244cc engine. you can tighten the spring on the gov. -that might or try to find the correct bushing. that carb does not have a seal on the throttle shaft, more likely you will need to get a new carb.
the idle mix adjusting screw is normally set at 1 1/2 turns out. try giving the carb a good cleaning first. also check with site sponsors such as mikes motortoys for parts. he is an ezgo parts dealer.

when looking up parts, check marathon. except for the body and suspension this what you have.

thanks for the info. ill try to get some pics up tomorrow. what is considered good compression on these motors? Im thinking the motor has been rebuilt. after i took the carb off, the piston and rings look like there right of of the box there that clean. compression test said 100 cold and 95 when warm.
