I don't think this problem with the HP3004 belt is with the comet clutch setups. Mine has the original clutch setup and the belt is way too short. If it doesn't hang in the bottom of the driven sheave it rides so far up on top of it killing the engine.
I have a HP3003 on order to try on mine. I know the original belt for mine is a hair narrower than the 3004, maybe that has something to do with it?? |

So how did the different belt work for you. Im having the same problem.84 e z go, 2 pg, stock clutch.

The HP3003 is only an 1/8" shorter than the OEM belt so there was no neck snapping change in performance.... I did shim the clutch springs and gained a bit more power for climbing hills though.
