I just performed the upgrade on my 86 three wheel Marathon. The power and response difference, at least in my case, was significant. As others have stated on this tread, getting an excellent ground to the HEI module is the most important part of this upgrade. I also upgraded the coil and spent an extra few bucks for an Accel 8mm Coil Wire. I'm very impressed.

I did the full swap last year (HEI - coil - wire) and the difference was instantly noticeable, the biggest change was in cold starting (no longer a hassle, even in the winter) but there is a definite improvement across the board (and when you consider the full ignition system upgrade is still far cheaper than an ignitor, it just makes sense)

checked wires on voltage regulator and found a bad splice on the + wire. no voltage to regulator means to much voltage to module. rewired then replaced module and it runs great. thanks, u guys are lots of help.

Dave, the rev counter. Is that the same as an rpm? If so, where can I get my own? :) And the wrap. Also where can I get my own ;)
