Re: Types of oil to use ? please help.....
It is a 30 year old 2 stroke engine I promise you it doesn't care. Just go to your auto supply store or Walmart and buy any SAE approved two stroke oil. I can give you two pointers though.
1. Mix the correct ratio which is 128:1. I know that sounds lean but that is what EZGO recommend. This makes your life easy as that is 1 ounce of oil to 1 gallon of gasoline. This is a case were more is not better and overdoing the oil will cause your plug to foul, your muffler to choke and excess carbon in the cylinder. 2. Do not just drop the oil and the gas in the tank, they will not mix correctly. You should put the oil in the gas container and shake vigorously to mix the solution before you pour it into the tank. FWIW I use valvoline tc-w3 2 cycle oil. Like dave said it probably doesn't matter as long as its mixed properly.

EZGO state that the first tank should be 40:1 i.e. 3 ounces per gallon.
