Default 4 cycle rear....

I am gauging possibilities.. If my motor turns out to be a dud, I may upgrade. It is my understanding that I will need to get a 4 cycle rear to do so...

Anything else I will need?

4 stroke motor (duromax 16hp $300 or predator 420cc $350) exhaust manifold/header, muffler, u can use stock clutch if engine has 1" shaft(tapered shaft needs adapter) motor mount n remote throttle n choke cables. U can make motor mounts n header cheap. Betr than $1000 to hav 2pg rebuilt! Sure wish I wuda did it on mine :-/

Yamaha bravo 340 snowmobile engine. 2 stroke single piston and you can use your ignition stuff so it will run reverse. Makes 24.5hp. No swapping rear ends and around my area about 100 bucks will get you the whole sled so you can pull the gauges too.

WOW! Nice. Not many snowmobiles in Virginia Beach area... LOL.

Herm, thanks for the info. I may have to research it more... I will need to know EXACTLY what parts are all required before I attempt this. $1k for a motor rebuild is not in my future, not when there has to be a better alternative.

If you want I can hunt down a running sled motor for you here and get a quote for shipping. You'd have to pay for the motor and shipping but I can ship you the motor, wiring clutches and belt for pretty cheap I'm sure. There is a build thread on here I don't remember who did it but it gives a run down on what you need. It's called Big Block G1 or something like that.

I'll keep that in mind, THANKS! I am not quite ready to pull the trigger yet. I want to see if this one will run first. Just picked up the battery today and waiting on the solenoid.

Didn't mean it had to be today or that it had to be done just throwing out some help if it's needed.
