Default Jurassic Cart / Tee-Rex G1 build

Hi everyone! I bought a 1981 G1 last week when I was on holidays for $375 and decided to haul it home and begin a project that instantly popped into my mind. Luckily the engine still seems to run strong and it drove up the steep ramps into my lifted truck with so little effort that it rammed into the front of the box and dented it. Oh yeah, the brakes didn't work when I got it!

So here is the plan... I am building what will be called both the Jurassic Cart and the Tee-Rex. The plan is to make a G1 version of the jurassic park jeep without going to the extent of the Geep1 project (although I'd love to). Here is a picture to get an idea.

Ok never mind. Can't post pictures for another 3 days because I'm too new. I have the hood done and painted and working on the rear body and frame this weekend.

I will just post a couple of quick pictures here from my limited attachments. I have posted all pictures to an album if people want to see more before my 7 day probation is up!

Here is the overall theme i'm looking to achieve:
jeep.jpg

Here's what i'm starting with!
cart1.jpg

Patching the holes with plastic filler.
cart4.jpg

Grey metallic painted.
cart8.jpg

Red accent added plus clear coat plus pin striping.
cart9.jpg

Will be starting the rear body today and painting the frame while waiting for fiberglass to dry. In the next few weeks i will be building a custom lift, diamond plating the floor, rockers and custom bumpers. I have bucket seats from a 2001 Cavalier and i will have decals made to match the theme. Eventually i will make a quick attach system to allow for easy change over of golf bag holder, utility box, cooler, and potentially a back seat.

Started painting up some of the parts.

Two of the corners were completely smashed so I had to perfect my fiberglass skills.

Undercoating on the hood.

It's just called rocker panel gravel guard from Canadian tire. I try and stay away from the asphalt ones. This stuff comes in a spray bomb and is paintable. Dries hard.
