Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
The kit just became available the first of the year. Stupid fed ex. Only brought half of the kit so I'm waiting (going crazy) for the other half.

Call and talk to Jeffery, they have them but not on their web site yet. they're also working on a big-block install plate that drops the engine but still mounts to the stock mounting locations. 1.jpg |

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
Update! Brown Santa showed up and I went straight to work. Finished the install and got about 10min into the break in run. Man this motor sounds mean. Had three Neighbor's show up wonder what I was doing now. Good thing too. One of them noticed the fuel spilling off the bottom of the carb. Photos for proof!

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
Any one have any words of wisdom on rigging up the throttle? Or why fuel is coming out the bottom of the carb spacer?

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
I know that some people have used a throttle plate that they have gotten from
go kart racing suppliers.... I'm jealous |

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
Try tightening the fuel bowl... or if that doesnt work, take it off and make sure it is seated correctly.. taking extra care not to drop any of the internal components.
i'm not sure what is on the VC engine, but on mine i used the throttle cable that went to the gear box, i bypassed the governor and attached directly to the engine. there was a bracket already on the engine that i drilled a hole and attached the cable to.. the stock throttle cable has a bracket on it, try attaching that somewhere on the engine, push the gas pedal all the way in and then pull the throttle on the carb all the way (full throttle) that will give you the position you will need to attach the throttle cable. worst case scenario, you may have to get a scrap piece of metal and make your own mounting plate. how loud is that exhaust? is there a muffler on it or is it straight pipe? |

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
Well I got the breakin done. Fixed the leaking carb with a T fitting what a pain that was to find. Only thing left is the throttle. Hard part is the motor comes with nothing. No governed arm no springs no linkage nothing. So I have to build this from scratch. Kinda of a bummer considering I bought a complete bolt in swap. I really didn't want to do any fab work for this build. Oh well. Next update should be the throttle build and test ride report.
The exhaust has a muffler and it is pretty loud. I might have to tweek it just a little. I need to drive it before I pass final judgment. |

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
have you contacted VC about the throttle connector? maybe they have something and didnt include it..
also for the muffler, it looks like you could cut the pipe down and weld on an atv muffler. |

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
I have spoken to them it is the one thing that doesn't come in the package..
I'll wait till pass judgment on the exhaust until I have had a chance to drive it. It could be easily modified if need be. |

Re: G2 VC440 Street cart build
Hey Surfer, Did you look for a throttle plate on the go kart racing sights? They seem to be using the same basic engine. Of course building one could be more fun if your into it. Post some pic when you get it done. Good luck
