Default Anything on here about G1 brakes?

Hello, the brakes on my G1 feel heavy to push and are really bad at stopping the cart, I took off the drum and then pushed the brake pedal with my hand and the shoes don't hardly move at all, the cable seems to move ok but the shoes don't, is there anything that I should look for? Or does it just need new shoes?

Thanks, Alex.

Clean and lube all moving parts from the brake pedal to the shoes. New springs and shoes. Machine drums (if possible) or replace them. Since it's a cable operated system, there isn't really much to go wrong.

What Slo said, but make sure new shoes are "Genuine Yamaha" shoes!! The cheapo aftermarket shoes are hard compound, and don't stop!! And yes, I had to learn the hard way!!

Nice car Bowser!!
