Default G1 project ideas

So I picked up a gas G1 from a guys barn for 50 bucks. Put a new battery on it and it turned over forward and reverse. So I got it all cleaned out and it runs alright. Seems like it could be a fun project. I've checked out the stickies and other threads some but looking for some possible ideas and get a feel for what's out there

I bought a G1 electric today that had some diamond plate stuff on it to swap over and I have 2 good seats from the pair. I'm not wanting to go crazy with it but just clean it up and make it run fast. I work at a yamaha golf cart shop so I have a lot of resources to pull from.

I have seen some things about putting yamaha snowmobile top ends on them. I grew up on 250 bravos. Has anyone done this on here. What about swapping the motor entirely. I'm pretty sure I'm going to rebuild the engine so I thout that might be an option.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Default Re: G1 project ideas

I've done it, except it was an Enticer 250 (ET250). It ran great with no load on it, but wasn't good at all for pulling anything around or loading up with firewood. I'm sure I didn't have the carburetor quite adjusted right, but it bogged down when trying to go slow. However, it would pull to 37mph without blinking an eye, and I think it had more in it......

Here's the thread:

And a couple threads for a few more ideas:
