The engines can only do around 5K rpm, you need big tires (and lift) or HS gears to go faster.

I agree get a newer cart but they hold value, its not bad if cart in good condition. Lot of older carts are all worn out but still go, not sure why people pay much for them? I looked at a G1 couple years back the steering and shocks were beat, body needed help, engine not very powerful, he sold it for 600 I was not going to pay that. Those are 80s carts lol. It would cost much more than that to rebuild all that stuff, and with free labor.
