Resistor coil speed control?
Is FNR in N when this occurs?

If it's in Forward or in Reverse and the cart runs, with the turn of the key the very first thing to check is the return spring on the Accelartor petal, it could be week or broke and not keeping the pedal as the proper level. I have seen this on old EZGOs, so inspect the entire throttle linkage and see if this is your problem. ALSO make sure you have it on jack stands while your diagnosing so it does not get away from you and hurt someone.

I just fixed an old marathon that was doing this by changing the micro switch on the throttle bellcrank. The switch fell apart when I changed it. Its the one that goes to one side of your solenoid, other wire to positive.
