What are the red and blue spade connectors for on the battery cables on precedent?

I think he meant to say , blue =16. that is where you can hook up your 16/12 volt reducer.

What? More specifics please because I am about to hook up a voltage reducer tomorrow. Do you mean they actually saved me a few steps? Hard to believe!!!!

Why would one use a 16/12 reducer? Does that not create an unbalanced load which is not good for battery life?
