It really depends on the resistor set up:

If you have one long resistor that has "bridges" coming off of it depending on what speed you are in then only the used portion of that resistor will get warm. Your description indicates that this is your set up?

If you have multiple resistors, one for each different speed, then each resistor being used should get evenly warm.

I am not sure what type of setup your specific cart has.

I believe from your description it's bridged and working properly. Definitely talking with Atmosphere. If this thing didn't have the sentimental aspect and represent a way for my sick wife to get around i doubt I'd put the time in on such an old cart but I'm determined to get it back on track. I am also really enjoying tinkering with it. I have a couple other hobbies chainsaws and firearms but this may be a new thing to spend time on. I have made a few upgrades for safety that's came out nice but if it won't run its all for nothing.

Is this Yamaha G2 resistor still for sale? My father used to "rest" his foot on the accelerator and I think this is what burned it out.
