Default Throttle potentiometer

Been on YouTube and searching the internet how to test my potentiometer. The throttle is jerky and not smooth. I’m not getting anything while testing the throttle sensor when out

That's because you cant test it on the bench. It's not a regular "0-5k" deal. Has to be tested in place, with key on. One wire will be B-, one 5v B+, one will be 0 to 5v signal. Roughly 0.4v at rest, and roughly 4.7v at full throttle.

The throttle sensor is a hall effect sensor, with a magnet that rotates nearer to sensor as throttle is pressed.

Just struggling trying to get any reading like that, tried different combinations off the back of the sensor. Tried positive in one of terminals and grounding the black lead

No no no, you must test on Volts, testing on ohms will damage your meter, and could damage the 5v supply in the controller. I sure hope you read this before something bad happens!

Zero volts any position, I’m sure I’m doing something wrong

This would be correct info, if you were working on a G8, G9, G14 or G16 electric.
