Re: Rear End help/reverse
Well Dan, the cart originally ran the engine backwards for reverse. If you can make the engine start and run backwards then you can also have reverse. I'm not sure you'll be able to do that but that's what it'll take unless you can rig up a separate motor to spin the driven clutch backwards independent of the sled engine. or install a 4 stroke rear that has reverse built in but you'll to change the orientation of everything.

Re: Rear End help/reverse
Emergency room here i come lol, it is scary as hell!! i am looking into fabbing up this front end off a 4 wheeled golf cart..
so are you telling me this transaxle i have is for a electric cart it doesn't have battery treys it has a single spot for the battery i am totally new to these carts so im not trying to second guess anyone just making sure i have the facts straight so the axles that the drive is side ways were used on electrics and the ones that face front to back are for the gas ? here is what mine looks like not my picture but looks the same |

Re: Rear End help/reverse
No - it's not from an electric. The older 2 cycle carts looked just like what you have. I believe that they were the pg motors, not a 2pg or 3 pg. You don't have a reverse in any 2 cycle cart tranny, because the motors ran in reverse.
If you're planning on changing the rear end some day - better do it now before you do all the fab work. The EZGO 4 cycle transmissions will be completely different to that one... |
