could be a valve not seating
I'm not sure I believe the running with 4 tooth off thing.

i dont know what wrong with this **** thing timings dead nuts valves set runs but wont build enough rpms to move pops and sputers

are you sure the carb AND the spacer have a good seal and isn't sucking air
when there is no answer to the question then a logical assumption is probably the best bet. you had valves/head issues to begin with, you "fix" it but you still have the same problem. It's probably still a valve/head issue that just wasn't fix. valves not sealing or cam timing off is really the only reason I can see for gas to be blowing out the carb.
there are a few other possibilities but the chances of them happening are very remote. 1 Timing gears are press fit, if they have become off or shifted then the timing may not be right. 2 your ignition system has gone stupid and is firing all the time for no reason.

i pulled the plug wire and plug to see the spark while its sparking the spark looks like it starts to fade after a second
