In the mean time I am data mining. Thanks to the postings on this forum I have found serial number-year info- mine is a 1980, parts list and service manuals.

I also read a lot of post on projects-Geep1 project is pretty neat.

I don't have any plans for any elaborate custom work. Just do the basic check ups and take it out in the gopher fields of Montana gopher hunting. I will have the seats reupholstered and eventually do a lift. But first things first.

What basic checks should I make when I get the cart up here; belts, filters, etc?
It's in the very first post!!!

I have assumed the motor is froze up because I can't turn the pully wheel by hand. Since the Clutch is on same shaft, what are the chances the clutch is bound up from sitting for years?

I am about to finish up the two month trip to visit Grand kids. I will be headed home in a week.

I want to get a tune up kit ordered so it is on hand when I get home. Who do you guys recommend I order from?

I went ahead and ordered from Cart plus.

The tune up kit was waiting for me when I got home.

Took about a 1/2 hour to install every thing. The battery needs charging and a cable needs, but I taped it up for now. As soon as that was done the cart started right up and I have been cruising the back alleys....so much fun.

Lift kit an tires are next
