when you cleaned the carb did you make sure the needle was clean? when a g1 pumps out fuel it comes out at a fairly good pace. It doesnt just dribble out but its not overly strong either.

Leak in or along the fuel line? Fuel filter possibly clogged: replace. Check for clogged jets.

The reeds are like a one way check valve, they alow gas/oil to be sucked thru the carb/reeds/cylinder and piston ports to get to the combustion chamber. Normally, you can take the reed assy apart, slightly bend the reeds so they are completly closed, and reassemble. Make shure the reed retaining screws are tight! What is the compression reading (at wide open throttle)? Does it help if you use the choke? Since 2 cycles need ring compression and crank case pressure (reeds not closed, you can lose crankcase pressure) to run, try those things and let us know.

got to have good crankcase pressure for that fuel pump to work. Bad crank case seals would cause the fuel pump to malfunction mines like a giser.

Keeping sticky clean.
pull the pulse line to the pump and see if you are getting
pulses.
Check for leaks in the line (dry cracked)?
Do a compression test.
